Toplita is the cultural and economical centre of Harghita county, is situated in north-west of Gheorgheni’s area and is an important connection point to Borsec spa. Mures river and its affluences form deep valleys in volcanical formations which increase the interest for this zone. Being a small city Toplita could offer relax far away from the urban life style’s whirl. The serenity, landscapes’ beauty, richness of flora and fauna, numerous mineral water springs create a more and more touristical interest. Other interesting point in the surroundings: St. Ilie monastier and church (builded between 1845-1847 in Stanceni and moved in 1910 in Toplita; here you will find also a museum), Stefan cel Mare ortodoxe church (1927) – in nearby of its are buried soldiers from first and second world war, wood church from Moglanesti (1710), Lutheran church (1895) and Curtea Lazar (1829) which shelters in present a home for children. Other recreation possibilities are the two thermal water beachs. Bradesti beach , known under Banffy Baths name, is situated at 685 m altitude and has 17 ha surface. The springs’ flow is 4,7 liter/second with 26,5 C temperature. Surrounding of its were builded a challet, 70 cottages (little house), 3 bungalows and sport courts. The second beach, Urmanczy Bath, was builded in 1959 near the Mures river (flow 7,8 l/s, 25C temperature). The most important localities near the Toplita are: Borsec spa (26 km), Gheorgheni (32 km), Miercurea Ciuc (97 km) and Targu Mures (104 km).
